Official rules of Oraclescape

ALL STAFF MUST READ THIS

Rule 1. Staff Positions

Members of Oraclescape are not allowed to ask or beg for a staff position. This will ultimately lower your chances of obtaining a position on the staff team. This also includes "backseat modding" which is when a normal member acts like they are part of the staff team. Staff members are selected based on maturity and their willingness to help. Ordering other players does not count as helping, and is viewed as negative behavior.

Rule 2. Spamming and Disruptive Behavior

You must not use any language that could be considered offensive, racist, obscene, sexist, or otherwise inappropriate, including but not limited to swearing, slurs, and stereotyping. You should not create an account with an offensive or inappropriate username. Spamming text in game is not allowed, this includes random letters and the word "sale" repeatedly. You are also not allowed to spam an Oraclescape staff member via personal messaging.

Rule 3. Advertising other websites or servers

You are not allowed to advertise any outside websites, servers, or services anywhere on our forums or in game. This includes, but is not limited to, advertising any website or product, advertising illegal software, and advertising other private servers. *

Rule 4. Macroing, and use of bots or third-party software

You must not use outside software to gain an unfair advantage in Oraclescape. This includes, but is not limited to, automation tools, macros, bots, auto-typers, DDoS tools. Mouse/Keyboard macros are allowed as you still have to be sitting at your computer and interaction is required to use them.

Rule 5. Hacking or Password, Account, Bank PIN or Item scamming

You are not allowed to gain access to another players account. Furthermore, you are not allowed to gain access to another members computer or network without their express permission, perform any unwanted actions to another members computer or network, or unfairly obtaining any items from another member. This includes, but is not limited to, attempting to persuade another player to give you their password or bank PIN, scamming or deceiving other members, lying to other members for your own personal gain, and hacking Oraclescape accounts*.

If you beilieve you have been a target of somebody hacking your account, computer, or network for your details, we recommend to scan your whole computer for viruses such as keyloggers and any other malware you were not aware you had installed and changing all passwords to anything that might have been compromised.

Rule 6. Staff Impersonation

Impersonating a staff member is against the rules indefinitely. This includes, but is not limited to, claiming that you are a member of the Oraclescape staff team, claiming you have the ability to ban, mute, or utilize any other power accessible to a moderator, and claiming you're the owner of the server, forum, or website.

Rule 7. Knowingly exploiting a bug

Members are not allowed to utilize a flaw or bug in the server at any time. If you suspect that there is a flaw or bug in the server, please report them in the Bugs section of the forum. This includes, but is not limited to, X-logging, no-clipping, duplicating, walking on water, any bugs with server items or weapons, invisibility, global trading (trading all players at once), and global Dueling (challenging all players at once).

Rule 8. Global chat (::Yell) Abuse

The Yell channel is used to request help, congratulate someone on stat advance, organize events and parties and sell or buy something. Prohibited actions include, but are not limited to, advertising other websites or servers, flaming or swearing, using CAPS LOCK, using strike code, reporting bugs (please use Bugs instead), and using a language that is not English.**

Rule 9. Multiple logging-in

You are allowed to have more than one account, but you may only be logged into one at a time. You are also allowed to transfer items between accounts. It is suggested to use someone trustworthy, preferably a moderator to transfer your items between your accounts. In the event that any of your items were not properly returned to you, Oraclescape assumes no responsibility of the event, regardless of who assists in the transfer, and no items will be refunded or replaced under any circumstances.

Rule 10. Ban or Mute evasion

If punished by a mute or a ban, you must serve your whole punishment, and should not attempt to evade it in any way at any time. This includes, but is not limited to, making a new account that is not covered in the current punishment prior to the punishment being completely served.*+

Rule 11. Threatening another person, or bullying of any kind

You must not cause another player to feel threatened in any way, and must not cause a member to feel bullied. this includes, but is not limited to, demeaning a member, their style of play, aspirations, personal beliefs, family, using any language that could be considered offensive, racist, obscene or otherwise inappropriate, creating an account with an offensive or inappropriate username, and using inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

Rule 12. Encouraging others to break the rules

You must not encourage or assist other members to break any of the rules found in this Code of Conduct.

Rule 13. RuneScape Account & item trading

RuneScape accounts, items, and RSGP are not allowed to be bought, sold, or traded in any way on the server or forums.

Rule 14. Account Trading or Sharing

Any account created on the forums or server must only be used by it's original creator. Violations of this rule include, but are not limited to, password sharing, sharing your account (all persons included), giving away your account, and selling your account.

Rule 15 Oraclescape item and/or cash trading, buying, or selling

Oraclescape items or coins may not at any point be bought, sold, or traded for anything. This includes, but is not limited to real life money, real life items, Runeescape money, Runescape items, and Runescape accounts.


Rule 16. Vote Cheating

You are not allowed to cheat in our voting system under any circumstances. This includes but is not limited to changing your IP or bypassing any any of our systems used to prevent this activity. We do encourage you to vote as much as you can on any different PC that you have, however cheating votes for your own benefit is strictly forbidden.

Rule 17 Afking

You are not allowed to Afk for long periods to farm loyalty points. We encourage you to play the server and not AFK.


Violating any of these rules will provoke an action by a Moderator, Administrator, or Spikey himself, including verbal warnings, mutes, bans, IP-Mutes, IP-Bans, and up to account(s) stats, bank(s), or account(s) as a whole reset or deleted.

If you see or suspect a member breaking this rule, please report it immediately in the "report a player" section of our forums, and please provide proper evidence of the action.
